State Solicitor's Office Western Australia Brand
Client: State Solicitor's Office. This project was done as part of my work at Wills Brand Design.
Legal expertise. Public law experts. Western Australia. The State Solicitor’s Office in Western Australia came to Wills with an exciting challenge: To create a brand identity to reflect their multifaceted profile and areas of expertise. Public law experts that offer practical solutions, with unwavering commitment to public service and local knowledge of Western Australia.
Expert, trust worthy, practical, and local were the key personality traits that the new identity was build on. This and the nature of public law inspired the Serif wordmark logo and the roundel stamp device idea. The tagline for the state, the government and the people was born. The house icon in the middle of the roundel reflects the SSO’s nature of being the circle point that different roads lead to and the shape of the roof is the one of the Supreme Court of Western Australia.
The house icon was developed into a graphic device, that is used throughout the brand applications. It is easy to apply, whilst creating engaging and recognisable layouts. The colour palette is inspired by Western Australian nature, as is the imagery style, in combination with authentic people and urban imagery.
